Illinois has some the best museums in the country, from the Art Institute of Chicago to the Abraham Lincoln Museum in Springfield. There is also a museum that pay homage to one of the pillars of modern culture: fast food. Illinois is home to the McDonald's Museum which is the first franchise store of the giant fast food chain.
Illinois also offers numerous architectural marvels that will be definitely worth gawking at. There's the Sears Tower in Chicago which at one time was the tallest building in the world. Another public art masterpiece is the Buckingham Fountain which becomes even more beautiful when it is illuminated at night.
Illinois also offers more than a few quirky and offbeat attractions such as the world's largest catsup bottle and the hometown of Superman. The local bank calls itself the home of super financial services and the local paper is known as The Planet. How can you argue with that?
